Joyce Galiette joined the department as Finance Manager in August 2008. She has been employed at Rice since September 2006, previously as the Department Administrator in Chemistry. Joyce holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, magna cum laude, from Fairfield University in Connecticut. She completed a master’s degree in occupational education at the University of Houston in 1991. After teaching high school computer science and computer applications for 7 years, Joyce began a career in network administration and hardware/software support, working for both law and architecture firms. In the Finance Manager position, she returns to her accounting roots, and also reviews systems and processes.
